Northern Trust 2021 Weather Update: Tropical Storm ‘Henri’ Delays Final Round and Imposes Monday Finish

The Northern Trust 2021 saw two captivating rounds and is all set for an exciting final round finish. However, there is a prediction of tropical storm Henri on Sunday, which could spoil the final round. And the PGA Tour has come up with a statement addressing this issue. The officials have decided to postpone the final round to Monday. 

The PGA Tour was quick to address this issue and delivered a statement. However, previously PGA Tour had said they would take a call on Saturday evening looking at the situation. But since the storm has turned into a hurricane, the officials decided to play it safe and postpone the event to Monday.

The PGA Tour has released a statement, which says that the final round will take place on August 23. And the reason behind it is the severe tropical storms that are approaching Liberty National Golf Course on Sunday.

“Based on the projected path of Tropical Storm Henri and the Tropical Storm Warning that has been issued by the National Hurricane Centre for the area where The Northern Trust is located, there will be no play on Sunday, August 22nd. Round 4 will be played on Monday, August 23rd. Tee times and groupings for Round 4 will be published on Sunday afternoon, with the play on Monday slated to begin no earlier than 7:30 a.m.”

So now, the final round will take place on Monday instead of Sunday. Additionally, PGA Tour will publish the tee times and groupings of round 4 on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, The Northern Trust 2021 is the first event on the 2021 FedExCup playoffs. And the top 125 players from the FedExCup rankings are competing in the field. However, only the top 70 from FedExCup rankings will make a move to the BMW Championship and then the top 30 to the final Tour Championship.
