Gear up, golf fans. There is yet another event taking place this week besides the U.S. Open qualifying. We saw the conclusion of the Memorial Tournament last Sunday and it is now time for the inaugural Palmetto Championship at Congaree. So who are the top picks to win the one-off tournament?

The Palmetto Championship is making its debut on the PGA Tour. Unfortunately, this will be just a one-off event as the RBC Canadian Open will be back next year, hopefully.

The field is set and 156 players will compete for the champion’s honors at Congaree Golf Club this year. Since there is no defending champion, everybody will play pressure-free and will try to enjoy their game at the Palmetto Championship.

Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, and a few other big names are a part of the field. Johnson is a major favorite to win the event since it is being played in his hometown – South Carolina.

4. Alex Noren: Noren does not get the credit he deserves. The Swede has been one of the most consistent players this season and has made 15 cuts in 19 starts. Achieved a T13 finish at the Memorial and can certainly pose a challenge at the Palmetto Championship.

3. Matthew Fitzpatrick: Fitzpatrick has recorded four Top 10 finishes in 15 starts this season. His tremendous striking and accurate putting has made him a major contender at the Palmetto Championship. Ranks second in the PGA Tour in putts made from 15-20′.

2. Dustin Johnson: The South Carolina native is expected to put on a show in his hometown. Johnson has not played well this season and the Palmetto Championship is the perfect opportunity to get his game back on track.
