On the last day of the tournament, U.S. won six and tied four of the 12 singles matches to clinch the trophy. Tiger Woods, playing against Abraham Ancer of Mexico, won the first match of the day 3 and 2. His final putt for a birdie, however, went viral. The clip shows him pulling his cap off before the ball had covered even half the distance to the hole.

Much to the amusement and fascination of many, this video flooded the internet. A fan even called it, “seriously one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.”

Did Tiger Woods really pull out the celebration before the ball went in?

However, it was soon revealed that the video was fake! Someone with amazing skills on the internet created this hilariously genius edit, which had fooled the entire web.

While people believed this to be the real clip, the original one was soon revealed. It showed how Woods actually waited for the ball to near the hole before he moved away to shake hands with Ancer. Reacting to the fake clip, Woods said, “Well, when it was about probably like six feet out — the match was over. I might have taken the hat off a little bit early, but it was over.”
