Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa Comment Their Views on Tiger Woods’ Playing Schedule

Tiger Woods recently made his first public appearance since the solo car crash in February. He addressed the media on Tuesday as the host of the Hero World Challenge. Moreover, Woods made it clear that he will never play a full schedule on the PGA Tour. And he will pick and choose the events in which he wishes to play. 

Meanwhile, both Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa will be teeing off at Hero World Challenge on Thursday. Both these top golfers had their press conference on Wednesday, and they gave their point of view on this statement of Tiger. So let us see what exactly do they think.

Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa’s comments on Tiger Woods’ playing schedule

Rory McIlroy gave a press conference on Wednesday. During the same, a reporter questioned him about Woods‘ limited schedule plans. To which Rory,  said, he hasn’t played a full schedule since 2013. Hence, this is not a surprise.

“He’s been through injuries, and he’s, you know, he’s been through the wars. He’s put his body through a lot. You play the events you want to play, whatever gets your juices flowing. For him, that’s major and maybe a couple of other events a year, and that’s it. I think he said yesterday that’s what he feels like he can get himself ready for. I mean, it’s smart, it’s smart to do that.”

Hence, Rory feels it’s a good move, and it will be great to see him back on the golf course again. Furthermore,  Collin Morikawa was also asked the same question. And Morikawa said, whether Tiger plays or not, he brings energy and life to the Tour.

“You can see what everyone feels like and how much love and joy they have when you are able to just able to see him in person, talk to everyone, talk to the media, but just be out here, be a presence. Because he has that kind of ability to change people’s lives, and that’s what only a few athletes and people around the world have that ability.”

Moreover, Collin also added that if he is out on the course competing, he will try to beat him. “But trust me, if he’s out here, I’m trying to beat him, that’s for sure.”
