Shane Lowry is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. The Irish golfer has won two PGA Tours and five DP World Tours in his career so far. Additionally, he even has a major championship victory that came in 2019 at the Open Championship. Moreover, he even competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and had a decent week.
Meanwhile, Lowry has been playing on challenging courses since his younger day. And as of now, he seems to have liked the course setup for the 2022 Honda Classic at National Course. And after round three, he revealed the reason for the same. So let us have a look at it.

Shane Lowry reveals he loves to compete on tough courses
Shane Lowry has competed in the world’s most challenging courses in his career so far. However, Lowry seems to have fallen in love with the PGA National course, the host of the 2022 Honda Classic, this week. “I love the setup here, and I love this kind of golf course where if I shoot 2- or 3- under and I’m happy with myself, that’s the type of golf course I like,” revealed Lowry.

“I feel like personally that too many weeks we play where it’s 20- or 25 under winning tournaments, so for me, this is more enjoyable than that.” Meanwhile, Shane has carded 70-67-67 in the event so far and is -6 going into the final round.

However, Lowry says he is disappointed to see the field isn’t strong. “I think the golf course is really, really good. And I love it here. I think just where it is, the schedule doesn’t really work for a lot of players,” said Lowry.
Meanwhile, the PGA National is proving to be a challenging course for everyone. The cutline for the event was also the highest in a non-major event since the 2021 Memorial. The cut line for the event after 36-holes was +2.

Daniel Berger leads the event with a score of -11, while Shane Lowry is in third place with a score of -6. Hence, going into the final round, he will hopefully go for the trophy.
