The 2021 Northern Trust is currently underway at the Liberty National Golf Course. And the event was, as usual, all set for a Sunday finish. But a tropical storm forced the PGA Tour to reschedule the final event and make it a Monday finish. However, even this is in danger now of being postponed, looking at the current weather.

PGA Tour announced the tee times and pairings for the final round on Sunday afternoon – the first group was all set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. ET with threesome pairings on both 1st and 10th tee. However, the weather conditions didn’t approve of this plan, and the rain continued to delay the start. Firstly, the delay was of two hours, then an hour and once again by an hour. Currently, the start time is said to be 11:30 a.m. ET, but conditions remain quite overcast.

According to weather.com, there is once again a possibility of rain at around 12:30 p.m. All the workers on the course have been working hard to drain all the water from the course. And make it playable as soon as possible. Moreover, even if the play starts, it needs to be seen what changes has this rain brought to the course. The bunkers are going to be tough to get out of, as the sand must have become heavier. But even if the play starts exactly at 11:30 a.m. ET, they will have a small window to finish the day’s play before the light fades away.
