Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus Share a Mind-Blowing Co-Incidence in All 4 Major Championships

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus are two legendary names in the golfing world. While Jack holds the record for the most major wins with 18 titles, Tiger is just three behind with 15. Moreover, Jack Nicklaus became a pro in 1961 and was at the fag end of his career, while Woods turned pro in 1996. 

Notably, Tiger is said to be more influential and popular than Jack as he revolutionized golf with his skills. He took the sport to a global platform and brought more fans to the game with his heroics. Moreover, both these players have played in the same tournaments for a few years. However, during that period, there is an interesting coincidence between them.

The most unlikely coincidence between Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus 

Jack Nicklaus won his last major championship in 1986 but continued to compete at the highest level till 2005. As for Tiger, he was dominating the golfing world from the day he turned pro. Hence, the two legends have competed in the same major events for a while now.

 Brandel Chamblee, a golf channel analyst, recently tweeted one of golf’s most unlikely coincidences between the two legendary golfers. According to him, Tiger Woods has won in each of the last major championship events of Jack Nicklaus.

So even though Jack did not win any championship after 1986, his final major appearances seemed to be a blessing for Woods. He won four of his fifteen major titles in each of Jack’s last major appearances, right from The Masters to The Open Championship.   

Tiger Woods won Jack’s last PGA Championship and U.S. Open in 2000. Furthermore, he was also victorious in Nicklaus’s final Masters and Open Championship in 2005. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most bizarre and unlikely coincidences between Woods and Nicklaus.

Hence, it is worth remembering this incidence as it is rare to see such occurrences happening in the sport, especially with the two greats of the game.
