Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus are two of the greatest golfers to ever play the game. While they played in different eras, fans place both athletes on the same pedestal owing to their massive contributions to the game of golf. Woods and Nicklaus are the two most winningest golfers, but who among these two won more PGA Tour titles before turning 30?

Turning 30 is considered a milestone in life. A person will undergo certain physical transformations after this age, and it is always looked at as the beginning of a new chapter. As for Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, nothing much changed in their professional lives after touching the 30-year milestone. They kept proving their talent on the PGA Tour and the titles served as a testament to it. 

When it comes to the all-time record, it is Tiger Woods who stands tall with 82 PGA Tour wins. However, he is not alone on the leaderboard, as Woods is tied with Sam Snead in his historic record. On the other hand, Jack Nicklaus is third on this list with 73 career wins.

Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus – Who enjoyed more success before turning 30?

Before we dive in, it is imperative to note that a golfer’s success isn’t plainly measured by the number of titles won. There are other factors that contribute to making an athlete great, and both Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus belong to that category. 

Coming to the topic of discussion, both Woods and Nicklaus enjoyed tremendous starts to their professional careers. Tiger Woods won seven PGA Tour titles before turning 23, while Jack Nicklaus won three.

Woods clearly gained the lead early on, and he maintained it in the long run as well. Nicklaus accumulated a total of 30 titles before turning 30, while Woods won 46! This number clearly proves which golfer dominated more before turning 30-years of age

While this does not provide any conclusive evidence about who the greatest of all time is – it definitely tells us that Tiger Woods enjoyed more PGA Tour victories than Jack Nicklaus before turning 30.

In an ideal world, there is no particular player who can be deemed as the GOAT in golf. Different eras produce different players. While Tiger Woods stands out from the pack, it is disrespectful to snub other great players like Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, and Arnold Palmer from the conversation.
