Finau began wearing green on Sundays as a tribute to his late mother, who was a pillar of support in his golfing journey. Vena Finau helped Tony accomplish his dream in every way possible, but she tragically passed away in a car accident in 2011 when she was only 47.

Tony was devastated by the loss and it crippled his golf game momentarily. However, he rose back up with a fighting spirit and decided to pursue greatness, keeping his late mother in his heart and thoughts all the time.

It is such an emotional moment for Tony Finau whenever he suits up with a green outfit on Sundays. It takes him back to the tragic past, but the thought about his mother also gives him extra motivation to perform.
