WATCH: Abraham Ancer Makes an Unbelievable Albatross at the CJ Cup

The CJ Cup is underway at The Summit Club and the event has already produced some exciting moments. From hole-outs to shots that we rarely see in golf, the tournament has witnessed it all. 30-year-old Abraham Ancer cooked up one such moment during the second round on Friday.
The CJ Cup is one of a kind because it is a no-cut event. Hence, the players were not under too much pressure trying to save their scores. Moments like these certainly help golfers produce magical shots, and Abraham Ancer certainly delivered from his end.
Standing on the par-5 14th hole on Friday, Ancer had to obtain a good tee shot to cover a major area of the 556 yards distance. He struck a 300-yard monster with his driver that landed in the fairway with less than 250 yards remaining to the hole.

Ancer then hit a sweet shot from 250 yards took a soft bounce on the fairway. The ball then bounced onto the green and rolled into the hole to give him an albatross on a par-5! A two-albatross is a very rare sight in golf and Ancer was absolutely ecstatic after achieving it. Here’s how he made it:

Abraham Ancer hails from Mexico and he joined the PGA Tour in 2016. The 30-year-old has an inspiring story of learning golf in his hometown and making it to the big stage without a proper coach. He trusts nobody but his skill set, and it finally paid off last season.
Ancer had a good 2020-21 PGA Tour season as he achieved a win and a second-place finish. The University of Oklahoma alum emerged victorious at the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational which was held in Memphis, Tennessee.

Abraham Ancer is certainly a talent to reckon with on the PGA Tour. He’s got so far in his career without a swing coach, and one can only imagine how good he’ll be if he has an experienced trainer grooming his game.
