The ex- Manchester United and England defender Phil Neville has been appointed as the Assistant Manager for the Spanish side Valencia. He was previously a pundit at BBC, before he was chosen for this role by the La Liga team. A decent explanation of the situation might be the fact that the owner of Valencia, Peter Lim is also a 50% stake owner of Salford City team, which is famous for being owned by the famous “Class of 92′ “.

“Phil Neville becomes the new Assistant Coach to Nuno Espirito Santo on the Valencia bench.

“The former Manchester United and Everton defender, who was also an assistant to David Moyes and Ryan Giggs at Old Trafford, joins us to bring expertise to the black and white with his vast knowledge of world football.”

Even though the present Manager appreciates Phil’s tactical knowledge and his expertise, the Englishman has had no experience playing outside his country, having played only for two home clubs- Manchester United and Everton.

There’ve been speculation that Phil Neville was offered an opportunity to work under David Moyes for Real Sociedad but he denied the offer, even though he always fancied working abroad.
