Godfall is a timed PlayStation Exclusive that was one of the first games confirmed for the PlayStation 5. The ‘looter-slasher’ RPG is has impressed the fans with its gameplay and it looks thoroughly promising. Although, the latest information may not be all too appealing to the fans.

According to the official PlayStation Store listing for Godfall, the game will require an active internet connection to play at all times. This seems rather unfair and unnecessary considering it supports single-player as well. Surely the game has a PvE mode where players can team up with up to 3 friends to play. In spite of that, a constant internet connection for single-player is just baffling.

Moreover, the official Twitter account of Godfall also confirmed that the game is ‘NOT’ a service. In response to a user’s question, the official account replied, “Godfall is not a service game, but does require an internet connection to play.

This is another bit of confusing information because generally, games that fall under the service model do require an active internet connection. Godfall requiring one too and still denying the tag of a service game is surely vague.

Additionally, the fine print also reads ‘PS Plus required for Online’ which is yet another baffling decision by the developers. Considering the game is already a timed exclusive for the console, they should be offering all the benefits to their customers. Although in this case, it seems that the developers are going for something that is the exact opposite. This is definitely not going to sit well with the fans and surely needs to be corrected soon.

The game has already shown the fans what they can expect from it. The stunning visuals, great gameplay, promising storyline, and more make this game one to look out for. If the developers need to maintain the hype for the game, they really need to take measures here.
