PlayStation Showcase Provides an Exciting Update on the Company’s Plans for Classic Franchises

The PlayStation Showcase gave fans of the iconic console manufacturers an insight into the future of their games library. Following the release of the PS5 last year, fans have yearned for new games to play on this console. However, other than a couple of new titles, players mostly had to suffice with old PS4 games using backwards compatibility.

But, it looks like things will change soon. The event revealed several new titles set to arrive soon, such as God of War Ragnarok and Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine from the Marvel world. However, fans might be in for more surprises soon as the company may have teased some things in a promo video which aired at the start.

PlayStation Showcase promo teases massive future for the PS5

At the start of PlayStation Showcase, the company broadcasted a small promo titled Play Has No Limits. The 155 second long video had a lot of Easter Eggs that fans may have noticed. This included paintings of Kratos and Atreus, who will soon arrive in God of War Ragnarok. Players might have even noticed the logos of upcoming games like Hogwarts Legacy as well.

Other than that, there are even references of other recently released titles like Deathloop as well. Even symbols from the world of Tekken also made an appearance. Plus, fans may have also seen references to franchises like Sly Cooper, Crash Bandicoot, Pac-Man and many more. There are even many classical franchises that fans have seen in this promo, and many believe that these are a sign of things to come.

Classic franchises that could arrive soon

The developers have showcased a lot of video game references in the promo, which have gained a lot of buzz recently. This includes Alan Wake, which is rumored to arrive as a sequel soon following remastered announcement. Additionally, there is a lot of sneaky stuff from the world of Final Fantasy as well. Players may have even seen the name Valisthea on an information board with the 06:16 written on it. Valisthea is the realm present in Final Fantasy XVI and June 16 might be a possible release date for the title on PlayStation 5.

It remains to be seen if the promo was just a teaser with no future implications. However, that seems very unlikely, as many of these franchises will soon release a title. Now, fans will just have to wait patiently to see if they will come to fruition soon.
