“Please Take This Seriously” – Maria Sharapova Sends A Message

Russian tennis sensation Maria Sharapova joined the entire entourage of Porsche brand ambassadors in a message regarding Coronavirus to thousands of its customers worldwide.

Angelique Kerber and Julia Goerges, both of whom are brand ambassadors for the car manufacturer, also joined Sharapova in delivering the powerful message. Collective, all of them made an appeal to their fans to stay at home and stay safe.

Apart from the tennis stars, the video also had messages from Formula One star Mark Webber, Norweigian Ski racer Aksel Lund Svindal and Grey’s Anatomy fame actor Patrick Dempsey.

What did Maria Sharapova have to say? 

Sharapova had some kind words for everyone who is dealing with the deadly effects of the virus –

“Hi everyone. I recognize that this is an incredibly challenging time for all of us, all around the world. But if there’s ever a time to collectively make an impact, it is now. Please stay home, especially if you have the capability to do so. Please take this seriously and listen to the authorities.”

Meanwhile, Angelique Kerber also had an additional message, urging everyone to stay fit if they can –

“I hope we can get back soon on court so you’d better stay in shape. I know it’s a difficult time for all of us so keep in touch with friends and family by using new technology. And if you can, try to exercise at home.”

Julia Goerges magnified the gravity of the situation while also urging us to understand our responsibility –

“I know this is a difficult situation but we can use this time to do positive things that we don’t get around to doing in our fast-paced lives. Read a book, learn a skill and simply be there for one another.”

Honestly, we should all be listening to our favourite athletes. The best way to flatten the curve right now is to stay at our homes. Tennis will only resume when the disease is completely out of our immediate sight.
