Nick Kyrgios always has something to say. He sometimes lands into trouble but doesn’t shy away from speaking what’s in his mind. He is liked and disliked for the same matter. And so the Australian has a fan in the form of Patrick Mouratoglou.

Patrick Mouratoglou during the tennis hiatus started a league, Ultimate Tennis Showdown(UTS). It had many stars like Stefanos Tsitsipas,  etc. But admitted Kyrgios would have been a special silver lining on the whole line up if he had participated.

In an interview with UBITennis, Patrick spoke about Kyrgios’ personality. He says Nick can be too much and provocative but that’s what makes him an appealing player. He does have a polarising personality but Patrick likes that about him.

“I think It’s a big part of his personality and that’s why people love him or dislike him. Whatever he does is too much. First, it’s too much and second, it’s very provocative. He is provocative and he is too much but that’s how he is and that’s why he is an interesting character. And that is why a lot of people like him.” Patrick said

On being asked whether Nick will be good for UTS. Patrick revealed that he would love to have a guy like Kyrgios. Kyrgios has such a strong influence that he can fill stadiums like the Top 3. Players like Kyrgios are extreme and they show a lot of passion which is what Patrick likes.

“He would be perfect. Of Course, I like it. He is one of the only guys beside the top 3 who fills up the stadiums. They have been extreme but this is fun. They are also showing a lot of passion on the court. And the sport is about passion.” he said

“Yes Nick is too much yes Nick is provocative but that’s his personality and again that also why I like him,” he added

Interesting observations from Patrick. With the style of play at UTS, Kyrgios would be the perfect choice for the league. Let’s see if he participates in the 2nd Season
