The Toffees have been put on alert after learning that the striker Lukas Podolski is set to leave the Gunners after a terrible loan spell at Inter. He opted for the loan move to get more game time but failed to impress. The Toffees look favorites to land the player as hardly any club is in the race till now and can provide him with right amount of game time .
The 30 year old German attacker has been told by Arsene Wenger that he is free to leave the club.
Podolski is no where in Wengers plans for the next season. the World Cup winner could not fit into high pressing and passing style which might pull him out of Arsenal. He is, however, a natural goalscorer and has shown his ability in the German Bundesliga.
Roberto Martinez is willing to give the German a chance at Goodison Park and could make a move for him, although they might face competition from Turkish side Galatasaray. It could be a great bargain as the player supposedly won’t cost more than 6m pounds.
Although he only notched 17 goals in Arsenal colours, which is far less than he is capable of, Podolski can offer a lot with his experience.
