Currently a Trail Blazer, Carmelo Anthony has reached another milestone in his illustrious NBA career.

Anthony, 35, scored 25 points in Portland’s win over Chicago on Monday. With the performance, his overall points tally in his 17-year NBA went to 25,614, making him the 18th highest scorer in the league’s history, leaving behind Alex English.

The game was attended by Melo’s wife. Even though his son was not in the court, the family found some time to get together on FaceTime. During the game, Melo was seen saluting his son on the mobile app, when his wife showed it to Melo.

“Sometimes, we don’t cherish these moments,” Anthony said after the game. “We take it for granted. My wife’s here, my son is on facetime. They’re here. The support is here with my family. Any time we get to share with (each other), we do it.”

Melo, who did not have an easy last season, seemed to be back to his own self on Monday, much to the relief of the fans.

He was traded by Houston Rockets last season after just 10 games. Later, he was waived by the Bulls, and very few teams showed interest in signing the 35-year old.

With questions arising on his possible return to NBA, it was only in the last week that the Trail Blazers signed Carmelo Anthony, whose contract is not yet fully guaranteed.

With 12 points in the first quarter, Melo showed glimpses of his own past self.

“I am starting to get my feel and my flow back,” he said after Portland’s 117-94 win. “I am just taking it one day at a time. The last game at Cleveland I was flat. For me, it was like three games in four nights coming out of a vacation.

Tonight was a game we had to win, it was a great win.

“The support is unreal. Everybody trying to appreciate me just staying humble, remaining who I am, remaining true to myself. The work that I put in is leading me to this moment.”
