The gaming community has seen many professional players retire this year. Now, another pro has come out to say that he might retire if things remain the same in the Call of Duty league.
Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat, of OpTic Gaming, has stated that he’d have to think about playing next year if the League continues to be online. He is a 2016 World Champion and has been part of some of the top Esports organizations in the world.
Baring a miracle the league will more than likely be online next year I have a lot to think about more than likely will take time off. I will not put myself thru this anymore. we suffer because their central south servers cant work properly

In his Twitch stream, SlasheR further highlighted how he does not want to be in this situation anymore. He wants to showcase his talent; the lack of an opportunity to do so may force him to consider retirement.
“I will heavily consider retiring, I mean probably not forever but until uh lane comes back. If next year’s online, I can’t put myself through this anymore. I can’t continue to play you know, 10 hours a day to not even have a fair chance to like showcase my talent. It’s one thing if you know, you give it your all and you lose and you just weren’t good enough. But it’s another thing if you don’t even get a chance to give it your all.”

Previously, in May, Slasher had similar comments on the league over network conditions during matchups. He termed the conditions as “unacceptable.” This was following his team’s loss in the CDL.
This is just unacceptable. When does the next black ops game release? Gotta mark my calendar

SlasheR is clearly not a fan of the online format. Such matches are heavily reliant on the network and the slightest failure could cost the respective team. Slasher hinted at retirement if the League doesn’t revamp its format again. OpTic has had several issues with the servers in many matches and, well, no one is a fan of their team losing.
The Call of Duty League has received s lot of backlash for several reasons. A player of SlasheR’s caliber retiring would be the last thing the fans want. Hopefully, the League finds a solution for this in due time.
