While the world is excited about Tokyo Olympics 2020, there is also an eye on the future Olympics as well, not just the 2024 Paris Olympics, but also the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Now as the Olympics returns to the USA, the organizers have announced an 18 person Athletes Commission, and headlining the commission is Allyson Felix.

The Chief Athlete Officer (CAO) of the LA games, Janet Evans had announced the 18 person commission. This commission includes Olympians as well as Paralympics. The role of the commission will be to advise the organizers on various athlete services and experience improvements for the games.

Other than Allyson Felix who else is in the commission?
Felix leads the lineup with eight other Olympians. Along with her, there is Apolo Ohno, Adam Rippon, Nastia Liukin, Queen Harrison, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Adam Rippon, Alex Shibutani, Howard Shu, and Brenda Villa. And the Paralympians are Scout Bassett, Samantha Bosco, Allison Compton, Lex Gillette, Alana Nichols, Ileana Rodriguez, Rico Roman, Oscar ?Oz? Sanchez, and Ahkeel Whitehead.

Felix is pumped up to be in the commission as she lives in Los Angeles County. She was born in Los Angeles and also spent most of her life there, hence she is looking to show the rest of the world what Los Angeles really is.

?Athletes are the heart of our Games? planning and will be the heart of our Games. They?re our greatest stakeholders. So we want the voice of the athlete and we want the opinion of the athlete and we want the expertise of the athlete to be front and center within our organization,” Janet Evans, CAO of LA 2028 Games said.

By 2028, Allyson Felix will have surely retired and moved on in her life. But before thinking about 2028, her agenda will be to win more medals at Tokyo Olympics and become the most decorated track & field athlete in history. Her influence will surely be immense in the commission.
