Sony began the PS5 showcase with a series of exclusives to provide a glimpse of its strength compared to its rival. But, according to recent reports, these titles could take up a lot of space needing a regular storage reorganization.
The PlayStation Direct website allows the players to purchase games directly from Sony. The website mentions the estimated file sizes of Spider-Man Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls, which raises an intriguing piece of information.
Spider-Man Miles Morales’ standard version will eat up over 50GB of space, while the ultimate edition packed with a remastered version of the previous title will take up a hefty 105GB. Demon’s Souls, a remake of the 2009 title, will take over 66GB of storage space.

PS5 games to have massive file sizes?
This is in stark contrast to the size of games on the current-gen consoles. The size of the current-gen games isn’t as huge, which allowed users to have more titles in their collection.
The significant increase in the size of the games essentially means that the update size for games on PS5 will also be significant. Regular updates are an important feature of the post-purchase service. And while that is a good thing, it also means users will have to re-organize their storage now and then to accommodate updates and new games.

The system capacity of the PS5 stands at 825GB, which is much lower than the PS4 Pro. Even though the PS5 will enable the players to employ expansion drives, these ultimately increase the cost of maintaining the console.
PS5 rolls out on November 12 for the US and a week after for the rest of the world. Only time will tell how big of an issue the size of the games is going to be.
