Bangladesh is tied in a tough situation to move out of it and qualify for the semifinals. However, they have a fair chance to reach the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semifinals. Bangladesh is left with two matches against India and Pakistan in the group stages. The side currently stands at the fifth position on the points table with 3 wins, 3 loss and one no result match in their 7 games.

The next two games are tough for the Bangladeshi team but they have realistic chances to qualify for the last four. There are chances that the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan turn out to be a quarterfinals match for a place at the semifinals if Sri Lanka and England lose two matches each.

Bangladeshi team have similar scenarios like that of Pakistan’s to qualify for the semifinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Scenario 1 – Bangladesh win both of their remaining two matches

Mortaza and co. can have the best chance to finish in the last four if they win both of their remaining two matches against their Asian counterparts, India and Pakistan. However, they would also require some luck to finish at the top four after the competition of the group stages even after winning their remaining matches.

Bangladesh would hope that England loses at least one of their games against India and New Zealand. They would also be hoping that even if England wins their remaining matches then at least India or New Zealand lose all of their matches and have an inferior net run rate than them. However, the second case seems quite like a miracle but it is definitely possible.

Scenario 2 – Bangladesh win one of their remaining two matches

In this scenario, if Bangladesh loses one of their matches, then they would certainly require a supernatural phenomenon to give them some luck to qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semifinals.

If Bangladesh wins only one of their remaining match then they will want England to lose all of their remaining matches. Also, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to win only one of their remaining matches. In this case, based on the net run rate with nine points, they will have a chance of making it to the last four
