Quinnen Williams’ arrival at Dallas was one of the biggest head-turners of the season. Jerry Jones was on a mission to rebuild the Cowboys’ defense, and the former Jets DT was a key figure in his plan. And now that things are seemingly coming together for ‘America’s team,’ Williams made some earnest statements post the Cowboys’ victory over the Eagles, not hesitating to say things as he sees them.

“Man, he’s [Jerry Jones] one of the best owners I’ve had. So every time I see him, man, we always talk, we always laugh, he always give me… positive reinforcement,” he said when asked about his interactions with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. “It’s amazing having an owner like that,” Williams added.

His statements reflect a positive sentiment overall. However, Quinnen Williams has worked closely with two NFL team owners, including Jerry Jones. The DT was drafted by the Jets in 2019 and spent the last 7 seasons in New York before his trade to the Cowboys, making Woody Johnson the only other team owner he’s worked with during his time in the league.

So, was this glowing testimony of his new boss made out of obligation? Or is this proof that Jerry Jones’ leadership and locker-room culture are a step up from what Williams had on his former team? The DT’s endorsement of Jones says it all.

“He [Jones] took a chance on me; this organization took a chance on me by trading for me. And the best I can [do] is give my all. It’s an honor to have a guy like him respect me and to put that much faith in me to have this team win football games,” the Cowboys DT said earlier in the same post-game interview

With Quinnen Williams on their side, the Cowboys’ defense has considerably improved. The team’s improvement speaks for itself.

Dak Prescott, Quinnen Williams, and the Cowboys stun the Eagles

Eagles fans were forced to watch their team’s 21-point lead disappear when they took on the Cowboys on Sunday. Jerry Jones’ squad rallied hard to beat their divisional rivals 24-21, moving to a now improved 5-5-1 status.

Dallas avenged their Week 1 defeat to Philly with a walk-off victory at home. While Dak Prescott was instrumental in orchestrating this victory, the Cowboys’ defense consistently delivered in the second half of the game. Quinnen Williams and the rest of the defensive squad were steadfast in shutting down the Eagles’ rushing attack. Despite a rough start to the game, Philly QB Jalen Hurts found himself pressurized in the second half.

Ultimately, Osa Odighizuwa’s 13-yard sack in the last quarter put the ball back in the Cowboys’ hands, with Brandon Aubrey’s field goal sealing their victory. Up ahead, the team will take on the Kansas City Chiefs, who also made a comeback against the Indianapolis Colts this week.
