Sportstar had organized a contest called #AskAshwinContest, where in India’s ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin answered questions bowled at him by his fans. Ashwin is a very active character on social media and has often made his presence felt by trolling the ones who tried to have a go at him.

As a part of the Ask Ashwin Contest, a user with a twitter handle @kalamani22 asked Ashwin a challenging question: “who are the players you will pick in your all-time international cricket xi” Ashwin being the smart cricketer he is picked a team of playing eleven studded with legends, however he immediately realized it would create a controversial stir and why wouldn’t it? The team consists of only one Indian cricketer in the form of Sachin Tendulkar and it also boasts of as many as five former Australian players.

His all time XI looks something like this:  Sachin Tendulkar, Adam Gilchrist, Jacques Kallis, Brian Lara, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Steve Waugh, Michael Bevan, Lance Klusener, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram and Glenn Mcgrath.

Here is the tweet;

Also the fact that the team consists of no current players raised eyebrows, the spinner aware of this immediately posted another tweet to steer his way out of any possible controversy. The tweet reads;

He deemed the question to be sensitive and reckoned that all three are legendary names and have achieved a lot in their careers, he later went on to name legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble as his favourite and also heaped praises about him.

He is currently one of the best offies in world cricket is going through a lean patch in limited overs cricket and is a part of the Indian team touring the West Indies for a five match ODI series and a lone T20. We hope Ashwin gains his magical prowess back as the tour progresses.
