Rafael Nadal Reveals the ‘Biggest Challenges’ to Build His Academy

Back in 2016,  Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal opened his incredible academy. It has so many tennis courts and world-class facilities for all of its players. It is clearly an amazing training centre and on its 4th year anniversary, Rafa talked about the wonderful team he has over there. Let’s hear what he said.

To make a training centre great, it has to have the most amazing coaches. According to Rafa, this is very challenging but he feels that he has a great coaching team at his academy in Mallorca. He said,

“This has always been one of the biggest challenges, building a great team of people and also a great team of professionals. In that regard, I am happy, as I believe we have a great team of professionals and that gives me great peace of mind. We have coaches with vast experience in every sense, particularly on the professional tour… This group leads the project by creating the working methods and training the coaches that are coming through and have a huge desire to learn and work hard.”

The academy has been very successful ever since it was inaugurated. That is why Rafa decided to expand to many other countries and he did it this year. The Spaniard inaugurated his 2nd training centre in Kuwait and he is probably thinking about opening more. However, right now, his main focus is on the upcoming tennis events.

After being suspended for months, the tennis season is finally returning with the US events. Sadly, Rafa pulled out of them due to the coronavirus pandemic but he did give some good news. He confirmed his participation at one of his favourite events – the French Open. He can set many records there and he will want to do that when the event starts on September 27th.
