

2018 has seen a bunch of players end their campaigns citing injury related issues. Rafael Nadal cut short his 2018 season, deciding to skip the ATP World Tour Finals, as he underwent a minor operation in his knee. Stan Wawrinka is another player who has had knee related troubles, and was forced to cut short his season as well, as he withdrew from the Basel Open, and has not played a match since then.
Milos Raonic, Andy Murray, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, Juan Martin Del Potro and David Goffin are just a handful of names that have been struggling throughout 2018, with injuries. We take a look at what might be in store for them as they approach 2019, and what they have been up to.
Andy Murray has been recovering at a very good pace, and is expected to return to his full potential, as he is set to feature at the Brisbane Open before he begins his Australian open campaign. The Brit has decided that he will reach Brisbane a week earlier to get some practice under his belt. However, he has been posting videos of his recovery and below you can see the most recent one.

Stan Wawrinka meanwhile, who had a knee operation in August, got back into the thick of things very fast, and is already regretting it. The Swiss will look to get some quality tennis under his belt as he gears up for a tough season ahead. “I wanted to just play a few tournaments to test the knee”, said Wawrinka. “I was positive to see the knee was doing ok. But I knew that I needed a lot of time to work on my fitness”, said Stan.

Juan Martin Del Potro, who reached a career high ranking in the ATP singles roster, ended his year in disappointment as he withdrew from the ATP World Finals, after returning to it after a long time. However the big Argentine has been making swift progress in his recovery, after his kneecap injury. The US Open winner, posted his first practice session after his injury.

Milos Raonic is yet another player who has been struggling with injury related issues. The Canadian who withdrew from the Paris Masters, after defeating Frenchman Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, has not played a match since then. However, he has been make fast recovery, and has also signed up for the FAST4 exhibition event, alongside Grigor Dimitrov, Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios.

Rafael Nadal, meanwhile has been taking a good long break after losing his world number one spot to Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard after his operation on the injured knee, is back practisingg on the courts and will feature at the FAST4 Exhibition before he heads off to the first Grand Slam of the year. “I am currently practicing and getting ready for the start of the season. I’m feeling good at the moment,” said Nadal in his recent interviews.
Other players such as David Goffin, and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, are also on the path of recovery, and are expected to play before the Australian Open tournament kicks off.
