World Number two, Rafael Nadal was asked about his adjustments with different courts on the ATP circuit and how different is it to maneuver the ball on the indoor and the outdoor courts.
Definitely, the indoor surface of Paris doesn’t require the clay-court tactics. Rafa explained it is necessary to adapt the changes and every surface demands a different style of tennis.
“You can’t play a clay court game here if you want to have success here and you cannot play an indoor way on clay if you want to have success on clay. And that’s the beautiful thing about this sport, have the capacity to adapt yourself to the different conditions,” said Rafael Nadal.

The Spaniard does adapt to a different style of tennis while playing indoor tournaments. He doesn’t believe in exhausting his opponent and then earning points. Rather, Nadal prefers to slam winners to close out the points.

“For me, personally I have to just adjust to certain things. The way I am serving and preparing for the points and I try to play with the surface and not against the surface,” the World Number two, Nadal said.
At Rolex Paris Masters 2019, Rafael Nadal knocked down the three-time Grand Slam champion, Stan Wawrinka in the round of 16. Rafa took some time to get accustomed to the fiery single-hand backhands from Wawrinka’s side, but in the end, the Spaniard was successful in taking out the Swiss 6-4, 6-4.

During his match against Wawrinka, Nadal called the doctor on the court. He stated that he had some minor stomach issues while playing the match and there’s nothing to worry about it. “I had a little bit of the stomach, nothing important, but I wanted to take something to feel a bit better but was nothing important,” he said.
