The world-class tennis academy in Manacor district of Spain, Rafael Nadal Academy attracts numerous professionals across the globe to practice tennis on its courts.

After discussing with the governing body of men’s tennis, ATP, the academy is planning to accommodate tennis professionals and provide them a safe space of training. The sports center can take in a significant number of players and coaches. They and train and compete without stepping out of the academy.

The professionals can simultaneously respect the pandemic protocols and continue with their tennis. Also, their matches will be aired on television.

“ATP has liked the idea a lot and they are studying and evaluating formulas to carry it out in the coming months once the ideal circumstances exist. The global situation allows it and ATP knows clearly the plans of its calendar,” Head of Business Development of the Rafa Nadal Academy said.

“The amplitude of the facilities would also make it possible. If necessary, to organize all the logistics, respecting all the sanitary and social distancing protocols.”

“Competing with each other will help us maintain the level” – Rafael Nadal

19-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal voiced out on the same matter. “Right now tennis is the least important thing and the most important thing is everyone’s health, but if in the coming months the Academy can serve to help others, professional players,” he said.

“I am delighted that they can come to train and also to compete. We did not have any upcoming tournaments. I think that competing with each other will help us maintain the level for when the circuit resumes.”

The academy is presently hosting Rafa Nadal challenger which takes place during the month of August and September. Over the past two years, the Macacor’s center has already hosted more than 80 ATP players.

Its equipped with 19 hard courts, 7 clay courts, indoor track, fitness center, semi-Olympic swimming pool, and spa. It is also home to ITF World Tour events.
