Rafael Nadal Does Not Plan to Have Kids While on the Tour

World No.2, Rafael Nadal engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Xisca Perello in May 2018. The two are set to tie knots on October 19, 2019, in Sa Fortaleza, Pollença, near Mallorca.

Rafael Nadal, however, revealed that he does not intend to have kids while he is contending on the ATP Tour. Unlike fellow professionals on the tour, like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, Nadal doesn’t plan to have kids while he’s competing.

As reported by Metro, Rafael Nadal talked about having kids on the talk show, Con Amigos Asi. The Spaniard told Juan Monaco, the host of the show that he would love to have kids but has no idea if having kids at this point of his career is ideal or not.

He said, “I would love to have children, boys, girls … I’m a person who loves kids and I’m a family guy. I think it’s also above all about looking after the kids … I don’t know if having kids on the road is ideal.”

Rafael Nadal and Xisca Perello have been dating since they were teens in 2005. However, the 19-year-old rising tennis star from Spain didn’t spill the beans about his relationship with Xisca till 2008.

The 18-time Grand Slam champion told the Italian magazine, iO Donna, that their success as a couple has come from only three important things. The 33-year-old also revealed the three things important for every couple to maintain their relationship. He said, “I tell you how we do it: understanding, respect and above all great independence.”

Rafael Nadal and Xisca Perello waited fora long time to get engaged but it seems that the two will probably wait even more to have kids. The two will get married in front of 500 invitees, which also includes the King, Juan Carlos, who has a close relationship with the Spaniard.
