Rafael Nadal Excludes Historic Australian Open Victory From the Top 3 Moments of His Career

World number two Rafael Nadal turned professional at the age of 15. In a career spanning 19 years, he has had some great moments. With no shortage of titles and records, Nadal has thrilled fans with his prowess for the game.
For the past few months, tennis has been put on hold due to the pandemic, forcing everyone to stay at home. As with most sports, fan support is crucial to this game. But as things stand right now, the resuming calendar will have tournaments without spectators. So to get practicing and connect with his fans, Rafa had gone live yesterday on Facebook as part of his event called ‘Get Rafa Moving’.

“Roland Garros 2005, Wimbledon 2008, and US Open 2013” – Rafael Nadal
In the live session, Rafa answered some questions from his fans and showcased some skills they wanted to see. He was a question regarding the top three moments of his career. The first moment that came to Rafa’s mind was his first Grand Slam title at the 2005 French Open. His second best was the enthralling Wimbledon final in 2008 versus Roger Federer, and third was winning the US Open in 2013.
“Difficult, I can’t say three but if I really have to choose three it probably would be Roland Garros 2005, Wimbledon 2008, and US Open 2013,” Rafa said.

It was a little surprising Nadal didn’t add his only Australian Open title in 2009 to his top three. He did this win against Federer in 2009and the Davis Cup in 2004 to his overall top five. In the 2004 Davis Cup, he represented Spain at the age of 18 and helped them win it.
“And of course, Australian 2009 and maybe Davis Cup 2004 has been a very special moment. It was the first time I competed in the Davis Cup representing my country. Playing the final in front of 27,000 people,” he said.

In a career of ups and downs, Nadal has seen some great moments for himself and his country. In addition to the Davis Cup, he has won the Olympic gold as well. As the season resumes, let’s see how many more records he creates or breaks.
