During the post-match presser, Nadal talked about being happy to have reached the quarterfinals without dropping a set until now. However, funnily enough, a journalist asked Nadal whether he enjoyed dancing off the court and if yes, then what form of dancing he preferred. The defending champion claimed that it takes a few tequilas shots to get his feet moving.

“Well yeah, with some tequilas I am dancing, yes. Without tequilas is more difficult,” said Nadal.

Notably, after the match, Korda asked Nadal for an autographed shirt and the Spaniard happily obliged. Korda called Nadal his childhood hero and has named his cat after the Roland Garros champion.

Jannick Sinner ousted World No.7 Alexander Zverev in a thrilling four-set match to advance to the quarterfinal. In the quarterfinals, Sinner will face Nadal for a place at the penultimate stage. Meanwhile, Zverev claimed that he shouldn’t have played the match because he fell ill after his third-round match against Cecchinato.

Nadal will play Sinner for the first time in his career and is inching closer towards a record 13th title at the French Open. In the same draw, Dominic Thiem entered the quarterfinals after being at the brink of defeat and won his fourth-round match against Hugo Gaston in grueling five sets.
