Rafael Nadal Receives Another Honor for His Generous Contribution to Society

Rafael Nadal was recently appointed as the Honorary Ambassador of the Food Bank of Mallorca. The Food Bank felicitated him with such an honor because of his remarkable contribution of providing nourishment to vulnerable minors in Spain. As a part of this association, The Rafa Nadal Foundation will also make a donation equivalent to 3,000 kgs of food that will be given to needy people.

“Since my foundation and from the academy, we have joined the work of the Food Bank. We understand that the work carried out by this institution is always very important, but even more so today with the situation we currently have, known to all,” said Nadal.

The Food Bank of Mallorca is a Balearic entity that works on collecting and distributing food to the vulnerable, especially during a time of food security.  In Mallorca alone, there are more than 25,000 people who are dependent on the bank to fulfill their food requirements at the moment.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation, set up by Nadal, is renowned for providing the best health, sports, and educational facilities to the students who can’t avail or afford these facilities. The foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and this association marks the anniversary in a rather fitting manner.

“The Mallorca Food Bank has been carrying out magnificent work for years, more necessary than ever,” said Maria Francisca Perelló, Director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

The Foundation also aims at giving a healthy and regular diet to young children. The ultimate aim of the Foundation is to enhance the human resource development of the region. This is what attracted the Food Bank to contact Rafael Nadal. They seem quite impressed with the objectives and implementation of the ongoing projects of the Foundation.

“It is an honor for the Mallorca Food Bank Foundation that Rafa Nadal has agreed to be our honorary ambassador. We highly value her immense human quality, increased in these times that we have to live,” said Raimundo de Montis, President of the Food Bank.

Rafael Nadal will be looking forward to his 13th French Open title. After a humiliating defeat against Diego Schwartzman at the Italian Open 2020, the player will want to leave a mark.
