The British chain BBC recently asked the sports fans what Instagram direct would be interesting to see. Apart from suggesting a FaceTime between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, BBC also suggested Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios.
Following that, Nick Kyrgios publicly invited Rafael Nadal to have an Instagram live together a couple of days ago. However, unsurprisingly, Nadal vetoed the idea of going live with rival Kyrgios. The Spaniard looked disinterested in having a video chat with the Australian, citing a ‘generational gap’.

“I don’t mind doing a live with Nick” – Rafael Nadal
Kyrgios was prepared to have a live conversation with Nadal. “Rafa lets do Instagram live together. I am down with it. Let’s do it,” Kyrgios wrote.
On the other hand, Nadal was less enthusiastic about the idea. He feels that Nick might not have fun with him due to the ‘generational gap’ separating them. He explained that Kyrgios would have more fun with someone around his own age.

Nadal and Kyrgios have had a bitter relationship right from their first encounter at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion had accused Kyrgios of “lacking respect” for the fans and his opponents after the latter defeated him at the Mexican Open. Kyrgios responded by criticizing Rafa as a “super-salty” loser.

The two met again at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships when Nadal defeated the Australian. However, the bad blood between the two continued as Nick purposely speared one ball directly at Rafa when the latter was up for a volley. Moreover, Kyrgios was not even apologetic for his actions, saying ‘he(Rafa) can take a ball to the chest’.
A Nadal-Kyrgios Instagram chat would certainly be an interesting conversation for tennis fans. However, to everyone’s disappointment, it is highly unlikely to have the two on one screen.
