World No. 1 Rafael Nadal enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in the ATP Calendar 2019. The 19-time Grand Slam champion was wary of his schedule in the 2019 season to fend off from any further injuries. Will the Spanish star continue to restrain himself from playing more tournaments in the next season?

Rafael Nadal played 15 tournaments in 2019 including the Laver Cup in September and the one-week Davis Cup finals in November. However, the 2020 season might see a more hectic schedule for the Mallorcan.

With the addition of the ATP Cup ahead of the Australian Open in January and the Tokyo Olympics scheduled after the Wimbledon championships, Nadal’s 2020 schedule will be tighter than the 2019 season.

The World No.1 has also committed to play two exhibition matches with Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov in February and March, respectively. Nadal is hence line up to play 17 tournaments including the Laver Cup and Tokyo Olympics 2020, next year.
