Rafael Nadal Talks About Andy Murray’s Return to Wimbledon

World no. 2, Rafael Nadal talked about Andy Murray’s come back after recovering from the hip surgery.

In an interview at the All England Lawn Tennis Club ahead of the Wimbledon Championships 2019, Rafael Nadal was asked about his views on Andy Murray’s come back.

The interviewer asked Rafael Nadal, “Rafa can I ask you about Andy’s come back, we know how well you have done to come back from injuries, this year he’s only playing doubles but you’ve seen him, are you happy to see him back? and do you think one day you might play him in singles in the future if he continues his recovery?”

Rafael Nadal praised Andy Murray and said, “I am happy to see him back, everyone should be happy to see him back. He is one of the most important players of our sport in the last 10 years.”

He continued, “So it’s good news when we have the top players back and the most important thing happy for him personally that he’s able to keep playing hopefully he will have the chance to keep playing on singles.”

Rafael Nadal also revealed, that he was practicing besides Andy Murray and was happy to see him enjoying his game.

He said, “But anyway he’s able to enjoy again tennis without much pain as I heard and that’s the main things and the most important thing. I know how tough it is being injured and when you want to recover and you don’t find the solution. So, happy to see him on the court again and enjoy. I was practicing next to him and he looks very happy practicing, happy for that.”

Andy Murray made a comeback at the Fiver-Tree Championships in the Queen’s Club. He won the doubles title partnering with Feliciano Lopez. The Scott is partnering with Pierre-Hugues Herbert at the Wimbledon Championships 2019.
