Rafael Nadal To Play An Exhibition Match Against Grigor Dimitrov

World Number one, Rafael Nadal and former World Number three, Grigor Dimitrov will play in an exhibition match on March 2, 2020, at Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, USA (the match is scheduled to start at 8 pm local time). Their match is part of a special event organized by Premier Live. Nadal will be playing in Atlanta for the first time.

In the US, he always shows up for the American Slam, Sunshine Double and sometimes at Cincinnati Masters, but he has never played the ATP tournament in Atlanta. 

A portion of the proceeds from the Premier Live Atlanta Challenge will go to the Rafa Nadal Foundation and the National Tennis Foundation. They are promoting and organizing the match. Tickets for the event went on sale Monday.

Ticket prices start at $75. Atlanta-based cover band Yacht Rock Revue will be performing before Nadal and Dimitrov begin playing. A charity dinner and live auction will take place on March 1, 2020, at Japanese restaurant Umi in Buckhead.

Before playing the exhibition match, Rafael Nadal will play ATP Cup in Australia. Where Nadal will be teaming up with his compatriot, Roberto Bautista Agut. He will probably play the Australian Summer tournaments in Sydney or Brisbane and then followed by Australian Open 2020.

He is expected to be present in Acapulco, Mexico. Then fly to Atlanta for the exhibition match and continue his tennis tour in the United States, by competing in Indian Wells and Miami.

On Sunday, Rafael Nadal was instrumental in achieving the Davis Cup 2019 title for Spain. It was Spain’s sixth Davis Cup crown and the fifth one for Rafa. The Spanish tennis players defeated the Canadians in the finals of Davis Cup 2019 in Madrid, Spain.

The Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov, finished this season ranked No. 20 in the ATP rankings. He had successful runs at the US Open and Rolex Paris Masters this year, as he reached the semifinals of both the tournaments.
