Rafael Nadal says “sorry” and brings a twist to his Roland Garros farewell

Rafa’s sister and her fans might be sad thinking this French Open was the Spaniard’s last time on his favorite court. However, that might not be the case. It’s a big, big chance that it’s going to be my last Roland Garros, But if I have to tell you it’s 100% my last Roland Garros? Sorry, but I will not. Because I cannot predict what’s going on” Rafa said intriguing his fans’ interest. After this statement, it wasn’t hard for fans to understand that this 14-time Roland Garros champion is not done with his favorite clay court.

Amelie Mauresmo, the tour’s director then fuelled this thought by revealing how Rafa disagreed with his farewell felicitation. “He wants to leave the door open for him maybe to come back next year as a player. So we’re not going to push him to do anything. It’s his decision when he wants to have a proper ceremony or proper goodbye and proper farewell. So we’re not going to do it this year”- Mauresmo said.
