Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen feels that the development push that the team initiated will be helpful. This boost has been in effect over the past two races and will be beneficial, come the British Grand Prix. The Scuderia has had a fairly poor record at
Terrell Owens holding Dude Wipes XL
Silverstone in recent years and they hope to change that.

Ferrari’s last victory at the British round back in 2011 with

Fernando Alonso. Meanwhile Raikkonen’s own win at Silverstone came for Ferrari in 2007. Since then, those 2 victories have remained as the Italian manufacturer’s only triumphs in the last 13 years.

Ever since Ferrari introduced their engine upgrade in Canada, further upgrades have been limited. So far, Raikkonen has enjoyed a surge in form with two consecutive podiums. Some felt that he could have clinched a much anticipated win in Austria on Sunday, but it wasn’t meant to be. But the Finnish driver is confident Ferrari’s recent developments will provide results at Silverstone.

“Obviously Silverstone, if you take it purely it hasn’t been the best of circuits for us in the last few years,” Raikkonen said. “But I’m looking forward to it, I think there are certain things that we are trying and will probably help there. And obviously a lot will depend on the conditions.“The last two weekends have been quite similar, we keep pushing and trying to do better all the time.“We try to do better than today in the next races. As a team we took solid points here and now we go into the next race.”

When Raikkonen snatched second place at the

Red Bull Ring, he moved up to third place in the drivers’ championship. It was his highest position in the F1 standings since the 2018 season opener in Australia.

Hopefully it is the start of a revival of form for the Finn.
