Justin Tucker has been trying to work his way back into the NFL for months now, and this week may be his best shot yet. The veteran kicker became eligible for reinstatement back on Nov. 11, 2025, after serving a 10-game suspension under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, and had a tryout with the Saints that same month, only to watch them sign Cade York instead. Now, per NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, Tucker has worked out again for both the Saints and the Colts in July, and the early returns look different this time.

Wilson relayed comments on X from Simon Mathiesen, head of TrackMan Football, who said Tucker’s current numbers stack up well against his own peak.

“Justin Tucker’s Trackman data from his workouts are comparable to the data that was gathered on him from 2019-2022,” Mathiesen said, pointing to his ball speed, trajectory, and accuracy readings.

“Tucker’s three workouts the last week are some of the best sessions ever recorded on Trackman.”

Tucker’s agent, Rob Roche, has echoed that confidence, saying any team that signs Tucker now will be getting the best version of the veteran kicker.

Before any of this, Tucker was one of the best kickers in NFL history. He won a Super Bowl with the Ravens after the 2012 season, made seven Pro Bowls, earned First-Team All-Pro honors five times, and once held the NFL record for the longest field goal at 66 yards before it was broken this past season. He ranks fourth in league history with an 89.1% field-goal success rate. His final season in Baltimore didn’t match that standard, though, a career-low 73.3% conversion rate in 2024, before the allegations reshaped everything that followed.

Tucker’s suspension traces back to accusations from 16 massage therapists from the Baltimore area, who said he behaved inappropriately during sessions between 2012 and 2016. Six of them first spoke to The Baltimore Banner, and 10 more women came forward afterward. The NFL opened an investigation in February and suspended Tucker in June for violating its Personal Conduct Policy.

Tucker has denied the allegations throughout.

“It is with all of that in mind that the allegations against me are so shocking and heartbreaking,” he told OutKick. “I maintain I did not act inappropriately at any point before, during, or after a professional bodywork treatment session, nor have I ever been told I am unwelcome at any massage therapy provider.”

He didn’t challenge the NFL’s suspension, but he’s continued to maintain his innocence. No criminal charges were filed against him, and no civil lawsuits followed the allegations. The Ravens released him on May 5, 2025, after 13 seasons, having already drafted kicker Tyler Loop as their long-term answer at the position.

Now Tucker is trying again, and interest may be building beyond just this week’s workouts.

Signing Tucker still comes with real controversy attached for any franchise willing to take that step. Even so, the Colts and Saints have both put him through workouts, and the Panthers and 49ers were floated as possible suitors last year as well.

Most teams are already deep into training camp with their kicking situations mostly settled by this point in the offseason, but a few jobs remain genuinely open. The Green Bay Packers still haven’t locked in a starter, recently signing Lenny Krieg to compete with Trey Smack and Lucas Havrisik, a sign the position is still very much up for grabs there.

The New York Giants have their own history at the position worth watching too. They’ve used eight different kickers over the past three years as longtime starter Graham Gano dealt with injuries, turning the job into a real source of instability.

Ben Sauls settled things down after joining late in 2025 and performed well, but the Giants may still want more proven experience and competition at the position, the kind a veteran like Tucker could offer if a team is willing to take that risk.
