A teenage sensation who didn’t turn out to be one, only to turn it around and be a sensation again. Martin Odegaard has had one remarkable journey since arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu. He failed to live up to the expectations during his initial years at Madrid and in his further loan spells in Netherlands. However, his current loan spell at Real Sociedad have brought the best of the Norwegian. And it wouldn’t be an overstatement if his meteoric rise is considered to be exceeding expectations of even his admirers.

Martin Odegaard continues to impress for Real Sociedad

Martin Odegaard has scored four goals and five assists for La Real in the first half of the campaign. These are some incredible numbers for a midfielder, considering he plays more as a No 8 than No 10. Though the Norwegian brings far more than goal contributions to the table. He’s have attributes like consistent  press, skillful dribbling, crisp passing and world class vision. He’s a complete midfielder, who would be a more than adequate replacement for someone like a Luka Modric and even Toni Kroos.

Real Madrid consider recalling Odegaard

And thus it doesn’t come as a surprise that the rumours of his comeback at Real Madrid are making the circles. According to reports in Spain, the Galacticos are seriously considering recalling Odegaard in June from his two-year long loan spell. And it wouldn’t face any resistance from Sociedad. As La Real are considered to have a healthy relationship with Real Madrid. Though there is also a counter view believing that the pressure of playing for Madrid might hinder his growth.

Whatever may be decided about Martin Odegaard’s feature, one thing is for sure, we’re in for a treat irrespective of where he plays. He’s no more a world class player in making. He’s a world class player. And if Fede Valverde’s form continues. Real Madrid might just have their midfield sorted for the next decade.
