He supported the soccer club FC Basel and the Swiss national team while growing up. He also attributes his hand-eye coordination to the varied sports he participated in as a kid, such as basketball and badminton.

The Mighty Federer was an active child. His parents encouraged him to play several sports from a young age. He played Basketball, Tennis, Badminton and Soccer. On April 11, 2009, they tied the knot at the Wenkenhof Villa in Riehen, close to Basel, in the presence of a select number of dear friends and family. She gave birth to identical twin girls (Myla and Charlene) in 2009. 2014 saw the birth of a second set of twins, this time fraternal brothers (Lenny and Leo).

His 2004 season saw him win three Grand Slam titles, as well as becoming the number 1 ranked player for the first time. He ended the year by winning the year-end championships for a second time.
