Recently, there has been a piece of interesting news regarding EA Games’ latest installment in the UFC series, UFC 4. Although the game has not yet been announced, the logo for the game was recently seen on the PlayStation servers. It is, however, expected to be announced at the EA Play Live event on June 18.

In a recent The Fight Guys video, Sports and Gaming journalist Brian Mazique said that boxers Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will most likely feature in the UFC 4 game as playable characters.

Mazique wrote about this on Forbes as well. To prove the credibility of this news, Mazique adds that he received this news from a person really close to the development of the game.

Electronic Arts Announces New Star Wars Title

UFC 4 has a tradition of boxers

EA’s UFC series is continuing with its tradition of including boxers in the game. Mike Tyson has been a part of this series for a long time as well. The reason behind this might be the fact that UFC’s President, Dana White, started his combat sports career with boxing.

The Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua playable characters will not be available to players at the beginning of the game. Rather, the players have to unlock them by completing various stages of the career mode.

Mazique adds that this addition into EA games’ UFC 4 might be a good marketing and promotion strategy for both the fighters. Joshua and Fury are set to fight in 2021, a fight about which Fury posted on his social media. He called this fight “the biggest in British boxing history.”

Mazique says that the inclusion of the two boxers is beneficial for the fighters, EA Games, and the UFC franchise in terms of marketing, profits, and promotion.

Mazique added that although the career mode of the game has not drastically changed, the game itself has become more “creative fighter focused.” So, the player creates a fighter and enters the career mode or participate in ranked online championships. As the career mode progresses, players can unlock more levels and earn in-game currency to further upgrade the fighter.

We expect UFC 4 to release this fall after the new consoles hit the market. Let’s hope we get a glimpse at what’s in store on June 18.
