World No.2 Rafael Nadal has returned to training, two months after a strict lockdown and isolation due to the outbreak of coronavirus all around the world. Rafa hit the practice courts after Spain eased lockdown restrictions in the non-containment areas.

Nadal was one of many tennis players who was unable to train due to the stringent measures imposed in Europe in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Mallorcan was finally able to hit some balls after a two-month hiatus.

According to reports, the 19-time Grand Slam champion practiced at his academy in Mallorca. Many of the students are staying at the academy during the lockdown. Nadal, however, trained at a different location from them. He certainly followed all the safety rules and precautions, as you’d expect.

Nadal is residing in his hometown of Mallorca. The authorities have allowed professional athletes in the district to resume training since it has seen a lower rate of cases.

The tennis tour came to halt for an indefinite period in early March due to the global health crisis. It is still uncertain when the tour will resume. However, players will have to keep themselves in shape to maintain their level for when the season restarts.
