During the conversation, Fossetti also pointed out that the game probably feels similar to FromSoftware’s hit series Dark Souls. The studio tried something different with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and it turned out to be a huge success. However, it was time to try something closer to home with Elden Ring. Therefore, FromSoftware is going ahead with its tried and tested formula once again.

The COVID-19 pandemic set the clock behind for Elden Ring. By this time, according to the initial timeline, the game should have been complete by now. However, due to the developments this year, the studio now estimates that it can finish the game within the first half of 2021.
FromSoftware has a knack for delivering successful games. From the Dark Souls series to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the studio’s games have been well appreciated by both fans and critics. Therefore, when the studio announced Elden Ring at E3 2019, fans set the bar really high. Hopefully, FromSoftware delivers on the expectations of its fans with this game next year.
