This week, the personal life of Roberto Bautista Agut was filled with distress. He on the verge of despair when he left Madrid on Thursday to see his ailing father. Bautista’s father passed away on the same day, and after attending the funeral, the brave man from Spain returned to Madrid to support his Davis Cup team.
“My dad would be mad at me If I stayed at home and didn’t come back to support my team. I had the chance to say goodbye to him and I came back,” Roberto Bautista Agut said after the Davis Cup 2019 victory of Spain. 18 months ago, the Spanish hero lost his mother.
Just three days after his father’s passing away, Bautista was back to business and defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6(3), 6-3 to open Spain’s point account in Davis Cup Finals 2019 and moved his country one point closer to the title.

“It was very special on the court today,” the Spanish hero, Roberto Bautista Agut said after earning the first point for Spain with a straight-sets win over Felix Auger-Aliassime. “I just go out on the court and give my best.
