Spanish No.2 Roberto Bautista Agut withdrew from the Davis Cup 2019 Finals after his father’s health started to deteriorate on Thursday. The Spaniard’s father then passed away just a few hours after he left the Spanish team at the Davis Cup 2019 Finals.

The organizers of the Davis Cup 2019 confirmed that Bautista Agut has left the Spanish Davis Cup team on Thursday because his father is very ill and has returned home in Castellon de la Plana to take care of his father Joaquin, who has been ill since 2016. Earlier, Roberto had lost his mother in 2018 before the French Open.

According to the reports, Roberto Bautista Agut wants discretion and respect for his family to be maintained, which just a year ago suffered the death of his mother.

Roberto Bautista Agut’s father also passed away just 18 months after he lost his mom. According to the reports, Bautista’s wedding with his fiance Ana Bodi Tortosa was also planned for next week.

Pablo Carreño Busta will replace Roberto Bautista Agut as Spain’s second singles player for the Quarterfinals tomorrow against the best or the second-best runner-up.

Australia will meet Canada in the last eight of the Davis Cup 2019 Finals. While Serbia, which finished on the pole position of Group A will face the best or the second-best runner up in the quarterfinals. In the third quarterfinals of the revamped edition of the prestigious team event, Group E winners will face the Group C winners.
