Rockstar Games is really optimistic about the GTA V Remaster, and it has plenty of reasons to be so. It has almost been eight years since the release of GTA V, and the game still has a massive fan following.

Globally, the title has shipped over 140 million copies. It is safe to say that this title has been one of the biggest ones ever from the house of Rockstar Games. So much so, that the title is currently in its third generation of players.

“Remastering has always been a part of the strategy”: Strauss Zelnick on Rockstar Games remastering GTA V

From what Strauss says, it is clear that the company has huge faith in this title. This faith arises from the pride the company takes in the work it is putting in. In the words of Strauss,

“Remastering has always been a part of the strategy. We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can, making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on.

“So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well.”

The company has done a great job remastering the Mafia series. From what we have seen of the GTA V remaster so far, we do not have much doubt regarding its success. Like Strauss says,

“It was a standard-bearer when it was launched, it continued to be the standard-bearer in the second generation, we’ll see how Grand Theft Auto does in the next generation.”
