World Number three, Roger Federer talked about his interests to play against the big servers of the sport. It’s usually a challenge to compete against the hefty servers of tennis. Presently, Federer stands on the third spot in the ATP ace leader’s list and the first two spots are taken by Ivo Karlovic and John Isner.

“I love those players, it‘s like a penalty shootout, is there an ace? no, ok next time. Those players can cause nightmares, but not to me, I like to play them. Every player has his own way to win matches, I was even supporting Opelka a bit,” said Roger Federer.

At Swiss Indoors Basel 2019, Roger Federer has dropped just one service game against the German tennis player, Peter Gojowczyk and played some majestic tennis against Radu Albot and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Swiss maestro recalled his first main draw appearance in Basel. “I remember playing the qualifying here in 1997 and then my first [main draw] wild card here the next year, playing Andre Agassi,” Federer said.

“Who would have thought that I’d go on to have this kind of career? I remember being heartbroken losing my first final here in five sets (to Thomas Enqvist in 2000), but now there’s been another 14 since. I’m just so pleased to have made it to the finals again,” he added.

After his semifinal win over Tsitsipas, Federer made it to the 15th final in Basel. Also, he is the only tennis player (ATP or WTA) to reach 15 finals of a single professional tennis tournament.

Federer has reached the 13 finals in Halle and 12 finals in Wimbledon, Monte Carlo, and Roland Garros. Also, he has made it to 11 finals in Rome and Barcelona.

On Sunday, Roger Federer will be playing for the tenth title in Basel and will be taking on the 20-year-old Australian, Alex De Minaur.
