In the GOAT debate which often prevails in the sport of tennis, World Number three, Roger Federer put his friend and foe, Rafael Nadal, ahead of his other nemesis, Novak Djokovic. Also, he justifies why the ‘King of Clay’, Nadal is a step ahead of the 16-time Grand Slam champion, Djokovic.

“That’s interesting, they have totally different careers,” Roger Federer told Mexican television network Azteca Deportes. “Right now, I would say Rafa, just because of what he did at the French Open. He is world number one right now.”

Tennis followers are well aware of Rafa’s dominance on the red dirt. Tennis professionals just dream clinch one Grand Slam in their careers, but the Spaniard has drawn a dozen of Slams from a single court and also maintained an unprecedented record of just two losses since his debut in the tournament in 2005.

The GOAT debate is completely a subjective topic. Beyond the shadows of doubts, the big names, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are definitely the liege lords of the sport, but to decide the best amongst the three of them, its certainly an arduous task of a tennis expert to land upon a conclusion.

All three of them are best in their own domains of tennis, nobody on the tennis planet owns Novak’s defense, no player can be as perseverant as Rafa and the attitude he wears while playing each point, and for the years to come there won’t be a tennis professional who would play magical tennis as Roger does.

However, the concept of GOAT is a board area of discussion. There are other players on the ATP Tour who do deserve the GOAT status.

Last week, Roger Federer was touring around Latin America and played quite a few exhibition matches. His tour ended in Mexico and he was excited to play in front of more than 40,000 people.

“I am very happy and proud. I kind of know-how fans are here, because when I travel across America sometimes or elsewhere, people say, ‘I am coming from Mexico and I am very proud’. So I knew I have some fans here, but I did not know I had 40,000 fans!”

Presently, Roger Federer vacationing with his family and the Swiss maestro will begin his 2020 season at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
