World No.4 Roger Federer is spending quality time with his family while staying at home during the coronavirus lockdown. The Swiss maestro is also staying active while being under quarantine.

Federer’s coach Severin Luthi revealed that the 20-time Grand Slam winner is utilizing this time perfectly to take care of his health and rehab. Subsequently, Luthi revealed that Federer has started his fitness training after a lengthy injury layoff.

The outbreak of coronavirus has brought the tennis tour to a standstill for an indefinite period since mid-March. Nevertheless, Federer was, either way, going to miss the action during this time due to an injury in his right knee The 38-year-old Swiss underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee in February. However, Luthi has now revealed that his knee has been getting better during recent rehab sessions

“I faced-time with Roger today, he‘s doing fine, did rehab, and started with fitness, everything good, then there were two weeks which went a bit slower, but now all good again, he‘s still got time,” Luthi said on Kasi live.

Earlier, Federer also revealed that his knee is doing fine. He explained that the first six weeks were really good. However, the recovery has slowed a bit after that. Nevertheless, the situation is better now again. Moreover, Federer explicated that he has a lot of time, so he is not worried and in no hurry. If there’s anything good about the current situation, it’s the time Roger has to recoup his fitness.

Roger Federer will be hoping to continue his steady recovery during the lockdown. Subsequently, he will be aiming to start his training sessions soon to bring his body back in shape before the tour resumes.
