As the Swiss legend, Roger Federer progresses to join the club of ‘Triple Digit’ ATP titles with Jimmy Connors in the finals in Dubai, by avenging the Greek lad, Stefanos Tsitsipas for his pre-quarterfinal loss in Melbourne this year. The Swiss star had a high first-serve percentage and won 83 per cent of his first serves and created history in 69 minutes and ousted the Greek lad 6-4, 6-4.

Most of the tennis followers were foreseeing Federer’s departure in the 2019 season and he putting his racquets aside, but fortunately, he drops a delightful announcement for his fans and declares to defend in his ninth Dubai title in 2020. “I wanted to let the fans know that I will be back here next year. This is what is planned. It is concluded with the organization of the tournament. They were interested and they wanted me to announce it during the week. I told them okay, let’s do that, ” said Roger Federer in a press conference.

His presence on the circuit at the beginning of the 2020 season seems intact, but Roger Federer is yet to reach a conclusion for participating in the Tokyo Olympics and the rest of the 2020 season. “I do not know how I can qualify, to be honest. And I do not know if I will play again at this time. It is still very far. I do not know, I do not want to think about it. If it happens, so much the better. If not…,” Roger Federer further continued.

After his historic win in the tenth final of his career at the Emirati event, Roger Federer will be flying to California for the American desert tournament in Indian Wells, which starts on Monday. There have been speculations that this year might be his concluding joy at the Californian contest of the ‘American Double Sunshine’. “We’ll see if there’s going to be one more season or not,” Federer said during an interview on a Swiss channel. “I am in discussion with my team and, later in the year, we will see if there will be one more season or not.”

Like everyone, even the BNP Paribas Open tournament director, Tommy Haas wants him to play on the Californian courts for years to come. “We hope that he’s going to be back for many, many years,” Haas mentioned. “But I keep reminding everybody that this might be, who knows, his last year. I don’t want to be the guy that spoils it, but we’ve got to cherish these moments.”
